The Benefits and Dangers of Natural Health

Happy Wellness Everyone,
Today I believe is going to be an awesome day filled with good positive energy.  I want to share something with you that I believe is important in public health.  As a public health practitioner, I am seeing more people come into the emergency room (ER) due to herb tonic and conventional method combinations.  Natural health tonics and/or fresh herbs DO NOT just treat one issue but it treats many issues all at once.  This can pose a danger to people who rely on conventional (allopathic) and herbs as a mode of healing.  Combining the two can become deadly in some cases depending on the remedy and strength.  For example, aloe vera is used to treat systematic inflammation, rashes and burns, and it is also used as a stomach reliever (GERD). However, using this tonic if you are pregnant can be devastating (spontaneous abortion).
Another example, natural tonics that contain the herb “marshmallow” is aspirin related (NSAIDs), which can put you in danger because this herb is where aspirin is made from.  This can be devastating if you are taking Warfarin, Coumadin, plavix, etc.   As a natural health professional, I hate with a passion when sells people who are not trained in the art advertise to the public that their tonic, powder, or cream will treat/cure diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, etc without scientific proof, it is a disgrace to the profession.  Just because it has some natural ingredients in the remedy does not mean it is good for you or that you should try it.   Please, if it is too good to be true normally IT IS.  Do not give your health over to a quack who comes over the radio and tells you that his or her remedy can “cure you”.  Herbal remedies prevent disease and depending on the stage of the pathology it can be treated appropriately (managed) by a trained naturopath.
Taking tonics that are promised to cure you may be loaded with “sugar” yes that right sugar and extracts that are only strong enough to be a dietary supplement and not a prescription.  Prescription strength remedies such a Vit D3 100,000 can only be prescribed by a conventional naturopath or an allopathic physician.  Do you want to know why people say they feel better after taking that natural “sugar” tonic?  The sugar gives off that dopamine effect in your brain (pleasure zone) where you feel alive and brand new (the placebo effect).  It is the same area that is stimulated with a person eats refined sugar, chocolate, or other stimulants.

Listen, some of the people who are advertising this mess on television and/or radio are only out there to make money and not looking at how the formula can impact your health if you have setbacks in your care.  Become empowered by educating yourself about your health condition.  Contact a certified naturopath, chiropractor who is trained in natural health, or allopathic doctors.  All of the professionals listed has the scientific education to give you evidence-based answers to your questions.  DO not trust your health to a sells persons or someone who read a few books and now in the field of natural health, it does not work that way.  Take care and be in good health.

My final Project of Integral Health. Naturopathic Doctor.

Introduction It is important for the practitioner to know his/her craft in order to provide the patient with the best care.   There are practitioners that believe that it is best to provide all natural remedies and sometime that may not be the case in question.   In naturopathy, when assessing a client it is best to ask questions that pin points the problem.   The question and the treatment need to be as simple as in can get according to their understanding and education. We have to put the patient first because that is how we are able to stay in business and with the right remedies, you have a patient that is satisfied and able to tell others of your work and more patients will come.   There are many areas of my life that needs work. Since being here at Kaplan University and practicing natural medicine. I am still in the beginning stages of knowing my craft and how to apply that art

Personal Journey

When I was assigned this exercise assignment i was not to trilled.  I really had no words for the audience in reference to my personal life.  I am in the public eye on a daily bases and wanted to prove a part of me as civil as I can be with respect to Kaplan University.   I took a shot at being open and relaxed when providing information to the public about how I feel about my life both past and present.  I have the most wonderful classmates that also helped me to realize that they are human also and able to make themselves varniable to heal from past and present hurts. I read the class assignment and realized that out of all of the sessions that we have had loving-kindness is the biggest one on my list.  As a Health care Administrator, I am emotionally comforting the patients and families during a trail in their lives.  In my career I use to think it is me that will keep a level head and not realizing that I too have feeling that needed to be addressed in order to help the patients

The Sudtle Mind

Take and deep breath and let it out very slowly now open your eyes and ask yourself how do I feel?  Breathing, we take it for granted every time we take in a deep breath.  We tend to not think about it until we are no longer able to do it on our own.  Breathing is an essential part of our relaxation and calmness in our everyday lives, we are not just aware of it.  Breathing is the focal point of our health and wellness and in other activities such as mediation, yoga, and prayer.  I really feel that the physical, spiritual, and mental aspects of a person are one.  There is no one person that can live without one of these points in life.  I believe as a caregiver and administrator that if a patient lacks a positive attitude and holds frustration, anger, and unforgiveness the patient will present with sickness and disease. In the CD from Integral Health, The Path to Human Flourishing written by E. Dacher, focuses on breathing and letting of all the troubles of the mind and thought pat
